London Craft Week

London Craft Week
Crafts have always been strongly linked to social identity. These objects assume an importance beyond household maintenance, they signify and legitimise group belonging and social roles, and become reserves of wealth, storing intrinsically valuable materials and the labour invested in their manufacture.

For Amazigh women, the craft of weaving demonstrates not only their artistic creativity, but their negotiation between female emancipation and indigenous definitions of women as the carriers of the Amazigh identity.

To celebrate @londoncraftweek, we will be posting about the history of the Amazigh crafts throughout the week ✨

Happy Monday gang!!!
